What is the PLIDA exam?

PLIDA (Dante Alighieri Italian Language Project) is an exam that certifies the level of Italian as a foreign language, according to the six levels laid out by the Council of Europe on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (from level A1 for the most basic beginner to C2 for the very highest level of ability). This exam is recognized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and it is valid all over the world.


Who can enrol for the PLIDA Certificate?

Any foreigner who wants to acheive an official certification that testifies her/his competence in Italian as a second language. There are no age limits to enrol for this exam. Each candidate can choose the most appropriate level of certification, according to what she/he feels is the closest to her/his knowledge. No matter which is the level chosen, candidates do not need to pass all the lower levels. For example, if you choose to try the A2 level, you don’t have to pass the A1 level first.

Candidates can enrol for more than one level at the same session (for example, B1 and B2 and the same time). There are 2 PLIDA sessions a year: one in November and one in March. Dates of exams are the same all over the world and are available on www.plida.it.


What can you do with the PLIDA Certificate?

  • You can ask for the permit of stay (from level A2 only), according to the Decreto Presidenziale n. 179 dated 14/09/2011
  • You can obtain the long term permit of stay (Decreto Ministeriale dated 4/06/2010)
  • You can enrol at any Italian University, without having to do the required test of Italian Language (level B2/C1 – info: http://www.studiare-in-italia.it/studentistranieri/).
  • You can be exempted from the Italian language exam to obtain the bilingual certification in the Trentino-Alto Adige region (Decreto Presidenziale n.86 dated 14/05/2010)
  • You can give a more specific and exact indication of your knowledge of Italian language in your résumé.

PLIDA (Projèt langue Italienne Dante Alighieri) : Qu’est-ce que c’est?

C’est un examen qui  atteste le niveau de connaissance de la langue italienne, langue 2, selon les niveaux tracés par le Conseil Europeen dans le Cadre Commun de reférence pour les langues.(du niveau A1 vrais débutants au niveauc C2 pour le degré le plus haut de compétence,langue mère)

Cet examen est reconnu par le Ministère des Affaires Etrangères et il est valuable dans le monde entier.


QUI peut s’inscrire aux tests pour la certification PLIDA?

PLIDA est adressé à tous ceux qui sont de langue mère differente de l’Italien, qui veulent connaitre quel est leur propre degré de connaissance et emploi de la langue italienne et  par consequent obtenir une reconnaissance officielle.

Pour s’inscrire aux examens il n’ existe pas de limites d’age. Tout candidat peut choisir le niveau auquel se presenter et il n’est pas nécessaire d’avoir passé les niveaux inférieurs. Chaque candidat choisit le niveau qu’ il considère le plus proche à sa propre compétence d’ Italien et il peut aussi s’ inscrire à plus d’ un niveau dans la meme session.

Les sessions d’ examen, pour obtenir la certification PLIDA,sont différentes ; un calendrier est publié chaque anneé sur le site www.plida.it


Qu’est-ce qu’on peut faire avec la certification PLIDA?

  • Demander le permis de séjour (du niveau A2)Decreto Presidenza n. 179 del 14-09-2011

  • S’inscrire àl’Université sans devoir passer l’ examen d’ italien  B2/C1 (info: http://www.studiare-in-italia.it/studentistranieri/ )
  • Etre exonéré de l’examen d’Italien pour la certification bilangue dans la région du Trentino Alto-Adige ( Decreto Presidenziale n.86 del 14-05-2010 )
  • Présenter dans la façon la plus transparente le niveau de connaissance de la langue italienne dans ton curriculum vitae.
